Words of Wisdom

I went to bed last night with the world on mind. These last couple of days I realized I had a lot of things to think about regarding my future and school. Even though I made my choice of school, everything wasn’t quite set in stone. After worrying for so long, I realized that worrying gets you nowhere.  I remember the wise words of my grandmother, “church-going” lady, who said “Son you have to let go and let God.” I’m not exactly the church- goer, but that doesn’t mean I don’t believe in God. I don’t go to church because I was not forced to go growing up; which I preferred.  When I awoke the following morning, I received great news. Accordingly, the first person I thanked was God. When times get tough and you have a lot on your plate, it’s okay to give some to God. He will gladly take on some of the load, church- goer or not.

Graduation

I’m sure everyone has heard the same advice when it comes to high school. “Enjoy it because it will be over before you know it.” If that’s the case then why does no one listen? I remember my first days at Paul VI high school walking through the hallways timid and afraid of change. Four years later I was a senior taking my last walk as a high school student. AllI could think was howI wish I would have taken that advice I’ve heard at least a million times. The feeling of graduating was bittersweet: leaving those I grew close and continuing life with those who truly do matter. Something that truly plagued me were those individuals that made graduation seem like no one does it when majority of people do make it; especially because the basic jobs ask for high school diplomas. A new chapter has begun in my life as I prepare to enter college and I now know that adapting to change makes life a lot easier.
